Distribution System Efficiency/Optimization: Can a Grid be “Smart” Without Touching Customers?

Jon Brock, Desert Sky Group, LLC

Desert Sky Group is currently updating research in the utility sector as it relates to distribution system efficiency and optimization. Most stimulus funds have been focused on smart meters and dynamic pricing. This research originally done in 2009, and updated for 2010, focuses on innovative technologies that optimize the distribution grid without the need to “touch” residential customers. What are these technologies and what have the results been to date on previous deployments? These questions will be answered in the presentation by industry expert and leading analyst Jon Brock, who will chair the session on Smart Grid at EUEC 2011: Feb 1-2, Phoenix, Arizona.
